Hi, I'm Milly!

Hi, I'm Milly!

Hi, I'm Milly!

I grew up my whole life thinking that I needed to be an expert at one thing. That I needed to study, practice, work on and hone in one speciality. I was taught that a 'jack of all trades, but master of none', was inherently a bad thing. A no-no. Something to be avoided.

I may have even still believed this, up until starting GW.

I tried to fit into tidy boxes. To slot into job titles that I 'should' be doing. But these titles never quite fit me. And I thought that because of this, I was kinda broken.

Since launching GW in May 2022, I've found my stride in life, and that pace isn't constrained to being an expert in one thing. It's dawned on me that I'm at my best, my most fulfilled, and my most challenged when I'm free to be a creative generalist. I now spend my working days helping others also navigate their non-linear, interdisciplinary careers.

Generalist World is the platform I wish existed when I was 20.

Generalist World has helped me finally find the group of people that just "get it". I felt like I never fit in, was always having to explain my career journey and approach to work, but as soon as I stepped into Generalist World I was surrounded and supported by so many people who understood. The support, connection, and knowledge this group of people offer never ceases to amaze me.
